Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Identical to X's. Somewhere in the 5'2"-5'4" range (I'm not sure if Command Mission's slightly taller height is a result of the armor or if X is permanently taller). Slender, small, and boyish.
2. How old is he?
Eight years old chronologically, but he functions at the level of--and appears to be--a young adult.
3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?
He tends to carry himself with the regal, relaxed grace of an aristocrat. Good posture, but he isn't necessarily stiff. I imagine the Mk-II version of Copy was more tense and stick-straight, but that was more a result of lazy programming giving him very artificial/badly-"animated" movements.
4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Well, uh, he's dead. The initial time around he was perfectly healthy. The second time around, not so much, given the nasty bugged-out speech
5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Whoops I kinda answered this at number three. The Mk-II phase was stiff and unnatural, but he usually gives off the impression he has a good sense of proprioception.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?
His face is exactly the same as X's, so just copypaste his response here. Self-perception... is kind of a weird topic in general. He definitely can't just casually glance in a mirror and move on. He either actively avoids them or ends up lingering for a long time. He tends to see himself with a detached sort of sense of otherness -- he's very aware that the face he sees belongs to somebody else, so mirrors tend to end up feeling more like windows or projectors to him.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Light complexion, same as X's, unscarred. That's the nice thing about being artificial: you can have half your face ripped off and still be described as unscarred.
I personally kind of have two different headcanon ideas as far as reploid bodies: either the "base layer" that's usually described as a bodysuit is their "skin", with faces being the only part with artificial flesh, or the armor is removable, but the reploid in question is still visibly robotic -- seams at their joints, serial numbers stamped on thir skin, if you look close enough you can tell their eyes are lenses, etc. In ZX, where they blur the line between human and reploid with the whole "humanoid" dealie, reploids are still immediately recognizable because they all have red triangles stamped on their foreheads (seriously, go look), so my theory is that humans would have pushed very strongly for reploids to be instantly recognizable as nonhuman.
(This'd also explain the popularity of animal-based reploids. That, and I imagine convincing artificial flesh is very expensive, and thus completely-flesh bodies are basically unheard of except in very high-class models.)
8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.
Blue? Brown? Black? Fanon varies all over the place here. Presumably, his hair is whatever color and style X's is. I do tend toward making it a few shades darker and a bit more cool-hued than the typical shade of brown most people headcanon for X, though. Ciel couldn't be arsed to get the eye color or voice right, so it's not too hard to imagine that she got the hair color wrong too.
9. What color are his eyes?
Very bright red. The complete opposite of the actual X's eye color. Truly, he is a flawless copy in every way.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? A really cool-looking Ultimate Armor and the ability to turn into a scary-eyed seraph-hovertorso-thing?
11. What are his chief tension centers? Back and hands.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
I'm pretty sure he's always in his Neo Arcadian uniform. I kind of feel like reploids and humans would probably have different fashion as a sort of a cultural thing (reploids being 90% more pantsless, for one thing), though there'll inevitably be individuals who blur the lines with their dressing. (Ciel strikes me as dressing very "reploid," with those ear coverings + helmetlike hat thing + bodysuit covering most of her skin, for example.)
Copy X probably rarely ever dresses "human", but even if he did, fashion centuries into the future is probably waaay different from fashion here and now, so he's bound to stand out in a modern setting. If we suppose that bodysuit isn't his base skin layer, then he probably wears it under most outfits anyway. Exposed midriffs are apparently way in this season, as are exposed arms, so lots of sleeveless/short sleeves, I guess. Probably more of a tendency to shorts and 3/4 length pants (I can't think of a word for capris that doesn't sound really girly) because again, serious lack of pants all around. If he's going to a human formal event, then he tends to go in uniform -- his armor is very iconic, after all, and it probably puts humans more at ease than a reploid in human formal attire.
13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?
Yes, because 90% of the time he's in the armor he was built with. If he's in a situation where he's encouraged to dress like a current-day human, he'll probably feel kind of silly and embarrassed because it'll strike him as kind of renfaire-LARPy-costumey.
14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?
I imagine Copy X doesn't really budget himself a lot of free time to begin with -- "me time" feels kind of taboo and selfish when there really isn't such a thing as "me" to begin with. Thus, any free time he has is usually just a quick break between work tasks, so he's typically in uniform.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Metal undies. Everyone in the future runs around in these.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Different from X's, oddly enough. His voice is higher, more boyish, and has an oddly artificial, hollow sort of echo to it.
2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?
He tends to speak pretty softly -- in the vocal CD, even when he's engaged in his Final Boss Banter with Zero, he really doesn't do any screaming or anything like that. I imagine that he's a pretty smooth, fluent talker; his role is largely centering around politics and commanding the military, so that's kind of part of the job.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
He did have heavily flawed speech as his Mk-II self -- personally, I like to combine both the Japanese (emphasizing unnatural syllables) and English (stuttering) quirks. Since I'm playing him without Weil's reprogramming, however, his speech remains normal.
4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?
He's a reploid -- presumably, language fluency isn't much of an issue with him. I have no idea if his first language is supposed to be English or Japanese, but he can probably switch between the two easily anyway, since they're pretty common languages.
5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
He'd switch if whomever he's addressing can't understand him, I'd think, but barring that, no. Same native tongue all the way through.
6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?
I imagine that in his early days, he was definitely a think-before-you-speak type. Not only due to being a newly-born reploid, but because he was still new to being "in-character" -- instead of just thinking about how he'd react, he had to go through what he knew of the original X and try to guess how he'd act. He still likes to think through things before he speaks when he's in leadership mode, but he's gotten much quicker at it with practice.
7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Copy X is pretty dang well-spoken for an eight-year-old. He's spent all his life in situations where formal language and eloquence are the norm -- public speeches, residing over Maverick trials with the Gentle Judges, etc., so it's kind of rubbed off into his general overall way of speaking.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?
Deeeffffinitely book-smart. As far as street-smarts go, he's painfully naive, but he's got sufficient theoretical knowledge to successfully run all of Neo Arcadia. He's definitely smart enough to be a 20-year-old, but only about as wise as an eight-year-old.
2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?
You have to be able to do both in his line of work, really. He prefers having the time to analyze his options, but he won't hesitate to make a quick decision if that's what the situation demands.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Definitely logical. Copy X is very much the pragmatic, analytical sort. He doesn't trust his intuition at all -- that, after all, is a result of the oh-so-forbidden "self", and not careful deliberation as to what X would do. His understanding of moral and emotional concepts is very much that of a child, and his good guys vs. bad guys "a hero is never wrong" fantasy definitely hinders his judgment, but supposing he had the time to develop and had been given proper guidance, he would have had a knack for examining situations objectively. Oh well. Too bad, so sad, what a shame you turned out to be a powermad murderer.
As it is, anyway, Copy X defintitely has a very organized mind. Running Neo Arcadia in the midst of an energy crisis, it would look really really bad if the government were to be wasteful or careless when the citizens are feeling the pinch, so he's definitely always got his mind on keeping everything efficient and running smoothly, shaving off dead weight wherever possible. Before he defects, Elpis talks about loving the efficient organization of Neo Arcadia, so presumably Copy's got a pretty good system going. That love of structure, organization, and attention to detail probably spills over to the rest of his life, too.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
It is a mystery. Presumably Ciel stuffed a bunch of Stuff X Did 101 textbooks down his throat at birth. He definitely never went to school or anything like that, but he probably woke up with a solid base of information preprogrammed into him. The rest he would have gathered either from studying history on his own time or simply experience on the job.
5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?
His expertise is basically entirely job-related. Ask him anything about how to run a city-state or command an army, and he's got your answer. He's also got some combat knowledge -- he isn't a final boss for nothing -- though he doesn't have near the experience that X or Zero would have, obviously. Dude's also like king of the X fanboys, for very obvious reasons. He's memorized all the irrelevant inane trivia that he could get his hands on, all for the sake of building up a convincing illusion.
As far as personal interests... that's another thing he kind of feels he should be avoiding. He's definitely a history buff, though, and he has an interest in politics too. Also... very job-related. Copy X is very much defined by his role, and he hasn't dared to attempt exploring beyond said role.
6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Copy X definitely fears emotional intimacy -- the closer someone gets, the higher the risk they find out who he really is, he... doesn't really have any experience with having friends, and his mother figure ditched him when he was three, built up an organization to bring him down, and sent Zero to kill him dead, so he's kinda... stinging from that, still. In that regard, he tends to isolate himself, so you could call him introverted. On the other hand, though, he hates being alone -- he tends to be insecure and needy toward those who tolerate him -- and he's definitely not shy about engaging people.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Definitely of the moody sort. He's a lot more short-tempered than X, and can be downright bratty and demanding a lot of the time. He won't hesitate to resort to manipulative behaviour if it'll help him get what he wants, be it through authority or by exploiting his innocent baby-face, and he's unbearably stubborn. But hey, on the bright side, at least he's driven; he definitely goes after whatever he's decided he wants, rather than passively hoping it comes to him.
8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
He, of course, defaults to putting on his "ruler of all Neo Arcadia face" -- authoritative, I'm-the-expert, relaxed and in control. He will tend to be mistrusting of anyone who tries to get close to him, but he knows to play his hand close to his chest.
9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?
Act act act act. Leaders gotta take charge.
10. Which is his default: fight or flight?
Fight. His boyish ideal of a hero tends to taint his judgment, and a hero, of course, doesn't run away from bad guys.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
Copy X's sense of humour isn't... really humour at all. If he laughs, it's usually at someone, not with them. Dark humour will maybe get a laugh out of him, but he's really not one for kidding around.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?
Uhh... delusions of grandeur, that's for sure, but one symptom does not a disorder make. I'll take a flip through the DSM-V later but ehhhhh effort.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?
- Welcome to life, little reploid. You are now an ancient legend in charge of running everything. HAVE FUN.
- Ciel deciding he really needs to go die probably also had an impact on him, though of course canon never touches on it. /WEEP
- Oh yeah, dying probably sucked.
- And so did coming back as Weil's conveniently booby-trapped mouthpiece.
14. What does he fear?
-Himself: I think as much as part of Copy X yearns for individuality, he's terrified of the idea of developing a genuine separate sense of self. The only reason he exists, the only reason he has a place in the world, the only reason the Guardians and all his subordinates acknowledge him... that's all because he's "X." He fears if he ever steps outside of the constraints he was built to operate within, he'll find there's nothing there but an empty little shell. Worse yet, by giving into that temptation to be something more than X, he'll shatter the delicate illusion he was built to uphold and send the Sword of Damocles crashing down onto his head.
-Failure: He will never leave a mark on the world. His life and death were observed by nobody save for a miniscule handful of individuals, most of whom hated him and wanted him gone. The closest he will ever come to acknowledgement, to leaving a mark on the world, is through the legacy his actions as "X" leave behind. If history should look back on his reign and condemn him a weak ruler or a failure, well... he really and truly does want to be a hero. Failing is a crushing thought.
Even outside of the long run, fear of failure is still a paralysing concept. Copy is painfully aware just how utterly disposable he is. If he fails to be a convincing X, he is no longer necessary, and what sorts of rights and protections can be given to a reploid with no serial number, maker's mark, or certificate of creation? There's no value attached to a creature like that. He's not seen as a person in anyone's eyes; he's a machine meant to keep Neo Arcadia running. And if that machine breaks down? Who cares? Go get another one.
-Being controlled: A strange thing for him to fear, on the surface, considering he's the highest-ranking reploid in town. Technically, he never really had the luxury of free will in the first place -- a fact that I suspect he resents deep down. He knows he's a marionette, dancing with his strings attached to some long-gone ghost. I think part of him feels trapped by it: he's denied the chance to be his own person, held up to the impossible ideal of a legendary saviour, throwing himself full-tilt into an unbelievably high-pressure job keeping society as we know it from collapsing at the seams. The person who built him, who put him into that life he was so unprepared to lead, thinks his performance is unworthy and he's an irredeemable mistake who needs to be wiped off the earth. He's aware that there's no use trying to break free of his role as X's copy -- taking a step off his designated tightrope? There's nothing to reach for or anywhere to go, just a fall into a howling, empty abyss. That, however, doesn't change the fact that he feels he has no control over his own life, and it's a thought that leaves him feeling closed-in, suffocated.
The whole dealie with Weil using him as a pawn? That definitely didn't help at all. At the time, he wasn't even aware that his free will had been overwritten. The horrifying, ghastly (even to Murderlots McKillbots here) decisions he made -- pardoning the dangerous war criminal Weil, discarding his Guardian Generals to hand power over to Weil, ordering a missile strike on a populated area of Neo Arcadia -- are shocking and sickening to him without the veneer of Weil's programming skewing his mind, of course, but at the time they felt to him like perfectly rational decisions to make. The whole incident just reinforced what a throwaway little doll he is, and how easily his fragile free will can be wrestled from his hands, leaving him completely helpless to do anything about it. He's got a deep and paralyzing fear that this is the fate he's condemned to for the rest of his existence -- always being made to submit to someone else's will.
15. What are his hopes or aspirations?
Be a perfect copy. As long as he fills his assigned role, he continues to have meaning.
More importantly than that: be a hero. He really and truly does want to uphold the peaceful utopia X created, to do his predecessor's legacy proud, to lift that burden from the original's shoulders and carry on the work he started so many years ago. Of course, we all saw how well THAT went.
16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
That he's a copy, obviously.
And yet, conversely, he's just as scared somebody'll find out he wants to be more than a copy. How wretched would that be, to resent someone as noble and selfless as X, to want to run from such an important task? Absolutely disgusting, that's what it is. He represses it so hard that I'm not sure he's even all that aware of that side of him, per se, though, so it really tends to manifest itself through overcompensation, by further reinforcing his need to be a perfect copy of X in every way.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.
I believe it's already been mentioned, but his mom was a toddler who went on the defect and have him assassinated. Things are... awkward.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Nope, only child.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?
N/A.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?
Hahaha nooope.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
That would imply he has any friends to begin with.
6. Does he have other close friends?
DEAR PRINCESS CELESTIA I'M SO ALONE.
7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?
Most definitely the latter. The closest thing he even has to friends are the Guardians, and I think that insecure little heart of his suspects they don't actually like him, they just obey because he's X. "They have to do what I say" really is the nearest thing he has to a concept of friendship. Good god he is a sad little beast.
I often wonder if he's ever inclined to abuse that power, to use their obedience to his will as a way to sort of comfort himself, in a very unhealty, one-sided, abusive power-tripping way. See? He's not alone as long as there are people who have to do what he tells them!
8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?
HE HAS NEITHER.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?
Good god no why would you ever marry this murderous manchild?
10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope nope nope. Basically you can take this entire section and just copypaste foreveralone.jpg onto it.
11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?
Man, he has never had a crush in his life. He leads a loveless joke of an existence.
12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?
His understanding of love is so stunted and warped that I'm not sure I even wanna go there. Any attachment he did have would be incredibly unhealthy and probably some shade of abusive. He would probably be willing, physically if not emotionally, to latch onto the first person willing to indulge his needy, insecure, and unreasonably demanding ass.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?
Uhhh. No.
14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?
ZEROOOO. He's also not too wild about Weil after the way the dude played him for a sucker.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?
Pffft, I don't even know. Gender tends to be a fairly arbitrary thing to assign to a machine, I imagine, and any innate physiological neurological differences found in human sexes are probably absent in the artificial brain, so it's probably not emphasized as much in the reploid community. I'm gonna tentatively put Copy X at a three, then, but I'm really not sure that this'll really be a huge issue with someone as massively unlovable as him.
16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?
Going by the human concept of sex, fairly apathetic. It's just a bunch of touching; it doesn't really mean anything to him. He would probably be willing to use it as another means of getting what he wants, but it's definitely not something he'd actively seek out for its own sake.
Going by Jen's headcanon on the reploid concept of sex, OH DEAR GOD NO WAY NOT A CHANCE IN HELL. Emotional intimacy is a huge no-no for him, and sharing his data with someone is a hundred times more off-limits. His data is chock-full of classified things, after all -- his identity as a fake, the fate of the real X, Neo Arcadia's most delicate secrets, dangerous knowledge of the past like Project Elpizo and Omega. There is absolutely no chance he can let anyone at that stuff. Besides, baring your "soul" to another reploid is a scary notion to Copy because... well, what "soul" is there to bare when there is no "self" to speak of?
17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Pretending to be somebody else is what he's used to, so it's sort of like a security blanket to him; I think he'd probably have a bit of a thing for dressing up and roleplay in the bedroom. He definitely also appreciates being the one in control. As far as turn-off go, again, good luck getting him to open up emotionally. You can bare your soul to him all you like, but if you demand the same of him, he's gonna ollie outie. Nothing but hollow relationships for the hollow reploid, please and thanks.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?
No canonical birthday exists, but I'm tentatively assuming he's a Leo based on his character traits.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?
He's kind of got a god complex going on. Does that count? Spirituality is probably a tricky thing as far as reploids go, considering the whole artificial thing, so it's not something I'm really gonna bother to delve into deeply because good lord philosophical clusterfucks everywhere. Death is often just a temporary setback in these canons.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Copy X's sense of morality is... uh. He definitely has the moral reasoning of an eight-year-old. He's caught up in a make-believe game of Maverick Hunter, more concerned with playing the hero than with whether he's doing the right thing or not. As long as the humans believe in him, he must be right, end of story. He clings to his beliefs with as much tenacity as the original X did; getting him to admit he was in the wrong would be a battle and a half. This lopsided morality was, most likely, a result of a lack of any kind of teacher, trying to emulate a person he'd never really known and picking up a general disregard for the worth of reploid life from both his own creation and society's overall stance.
4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Intolerant to the max. He just can't understand people who disagree with him -- in his eyes, they're the bad guys. As the guy who sits on the Neo Arcadian throne, who has the right to declare the verdicts of the Maverick trials (tough titties, Gentle Judges), most of Neo Arcadia is probably too afraid of him to ever correct or disagree with him, so he's extremely unused to anything but agreement. He kind of tends to take rejection of his ideas as rejection of him personally.
...MY GOD. Way too invested in pretending to be somebody, unable to take criticism, unbearably entitled and demanding. I'm roleplaying the future robot version of an RP wanker.
5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?
I think it'd be fair to call him prejudiced against reploids as a whole. I've... probably already established why pretty thoroughly so I would probably just be repeating myself if I went into it. I kind of always end up doing that when I do these surveys. His bias is probably not an entirely irrational unfounded one given the circumstances, but it's still really messed up and wrong and he's kinda mass-murderin' everyone.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Dude, he's like robot pope king of the world. He's probably doin' alright.
2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?
His social status was sky-high during his lifetime. As far as the general public is concerned, he was X, the most imporant reploid in town, for all eight of his short little years.
3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?
He lives in Neo Arcadia, naturally. I presume he has quarters of his own, but he's probably used them more as an office/maintenance area than a home. Again, the concept of personal time is something he feels kinda guilty and uneasy about, and there's no shortage of stuff to do when you basically run everything, so he usually ends up dragging his work into there too. Entirely off-limits to others, of course.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?
I... don't think he really does on anything. He tends to see himself more along the lines of a machine than a person, so I think he's probably avoided expanding beyond the necessities. Possibly he's invested in a few books/whatever crazy future e-book equivalent applies for research purposes.
5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?
I dunno something about some Neato Arcade place or something. Definitely already delved into his role and his feelings on it. Whooops.
6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?
I could have sworn I answered this exact question too. MAAAN.
7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Copy X doesn't eat. If we go with Jen's headcanon and decide that eating is even possible for a reploid, then that also contains the caveat that it takes a lot of food. Energy crisis or no, the world took a nasty beating -- it's probably kind of wasteful and looked down on as hedonistic for a reploid to eat human food. If he was in a position where he was required to eat, he'd probably find the entire thing really uncomfortable, be an absurdly picky eater, and barely touch his place.

Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:
